NS11 £36,648 - £38,223 per annum

37 hours per week

Plus, Market Supplement of £3,000

We are now recruiting for a Building Surveyor to join our Corporate Property team. In this role, you will assist in providing a professional and efficient service to effectively manage and deliver on maintenance, improvement and renewal of the Council’s land and building assets, including planned and reactive maintenance, and any new developments.

Your duties will include, but not be limited to:+

  • Respond to and deal with reactive, non-planned repairs including site inspections, analysis, identification of works and appointment of contractors.
  • To undertake schedules of dilapidations and condition surveys preparing, co-ordinating, executing and supervising a planned programme of maintenance, repair, and renewal of the council’s assets, together with reactive maintenance and major works.
  • To provide onsite supervision and inspections to ensure contract standards have been met and to take action to rectify defects.
  • To prepare specifications, designs and drawings, contract, and tender documentation and to procure services.
  • To provide valuations of the council assets for insurance purposes.
  • To provide a client facing approach

The successful candidate will have substantial experience delivering small and medium sized commercial works and projects, and will have financial knowledge and experience related to commercial projects, such as programme, budget monitoring, project management and construction health and safety.

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and have a full driving licence and access to the use of a vehicle.
