Building Surveyor

Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking, driven individual to join our Property & Development Team.

Your role as Building Surveyor will be to assist the Asset Management Co-ordinator in all aspects of property surveying. You will play a leading role in the planning and feasibility of projects and investment programmes, ensuring accurate records, reports and evidence are maintained.

We have a wide variety of stock, ranging from houses, blocks of flats, garages, communal open space areas, car parks and commercial properties, and we’re looking for someone who can utilise our asset performance data and insight, ensuring we take an informed and strategic approach to the management of our assets.

You will have the ability to problem solve complex issues, identify and develop practical and holistic solutions, whilst maintaining high standards.  Extensive knowledge and understanding of property surveying within the housing sector, including investment appraisal, life cycles, asbestos, compliance, fire safety, Decent Homes, energy performance, HHSRS, damp and mould etc. is also essential.

We'll need you to have excellent communication skills, dealing with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders and a proven track record of working proactively and on your own initiative, with the ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Finally, you will have a good understanding of health and safety practices and ideally have previous experience of project management from inception and feasibility, up to delivery stage.
