Summary

M&S is currently undergoing a significant transformation to ensure the business thrives in an increasingly competitive retail environment.

The Controls & Cross-Category Procurement team has recently been established to drive value through areas of spend not currently under management. The team will identify areas of commercial value and implement contracts whilst driving the sustainability agenda for GNFR.

As a member of this team, you will predominantly work on sourcing projects to support the delivery of Procurement objectives, driving commercial value to the Clothing, Home & Food teams. With a spend of c.£1.8bn across more than 650 suppliers, you will proactively seek opportunities to reduce cost and improve commercial terms through reviewing supplier strategies, market testing and negotiation.

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Delivering a high number of robust and commercial contracts across a range of categories
  • Driving business value through all supplier interactions
  • Supporting with the delivery of Procurement sustainability initiatives
  • Managing multiple end-to-end sourcing processes and strategic Procurement initiatives
  • Utilising data to drive decision-making, monitor compliance and track progress
Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Experience in a Procurement role, including managing end-to-end sourcing processes
  • A background in delivering savings and commercial value
  • Experience of contract drafting including development of schedules, commercials, and appropriate terms and conditions
  • Strong analytical and commercial approach, confident and capable of challenging the status quo
  • An ability to get going quickly, balancing multiple projects while prioritising effectively
