Location: Langport, Somerset

Salary: Up to £24,300 per annum (pro-rata)

Contract/Hours: Permanent Part Time - 20 hours per week

The Role

Spring The Levels offers affordable, high-quality childcare in Somerset, alongside its sister settings. Spring the Levels is a 36-place nursery based in The Levels Childrens Centre in Langport.

The nursery prides itself on creating child led opportunities for babies and children to learn, develop confidence and have fun providing high quality childcare.

In the role of Early Years Practitioner Level 2, you'll be allowing the children to explore and discover their own creativity, individuality, and imagination within our bright, engaging and safe environments. It goes without saying that you need to love being around children and will have the ambition to make a direct and positive impact on their young lives.

What you'll be doing:

Some key responsibilities of the role of Early Years Practitioner Level 2 will be;

  • Working as part of a team creating an environment in which children's individual needs are met and high standards of care are provided.
  • Working alongside Level 3 practitioners in supporting children's development, participating, planning and setting up activities for a range of children.
  • Developing successful relationships with children and their families.
  • Observing and tracking children's development and share this with parent/carers and other professionals.
  • Supporting children during mealtimes and toilet training.

What we need from you:

We're ideally looking for someone who has:

  • Level 2 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent. If you already have a Level 3 qualification do also get in touch.
  • Safeguarding Level 2 or ability to achieve.
  • Experience working in an early year's childcare setting or a setting working with children.
  • A thorough current working knowledge of children's emotional, physical, psychological and educational developmental needs from 0 to 5 years.
  • A commitment to safer recruitment practices to protect our service users and have an understanding of and commitment to safeguarding best-practice.
