What you'll be doing;

  • Ensuring the ERF is compliant with its Environmental Permit (EPR/NP3738SY/V008) including but not limited to;
  • Working alongside the E C&I engineers to ensure the Continuous Emissions
  • Monitoring Systems (CEMS) meet with applicable standards (inc. BS EN 14181) for emissions to air
  • Overseeing flue gas stack sampling contractors for periodic monitoring and calibration
  • Responsible for the regular sampling and testing of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) at an accredited laboratory, in accordance with the ESA protocol
  • Submitting waste returns and ensuring Veolia's waste 'Duty of Care' is followed the requirements of the Competency Management System (CMS)
  • Maintain the chemistry of various water systems onsite; two high pressure steam boilers, evaporative cooling towers, district Heating network, resin bed deionisation and water softening plants.
  • Assume the role of 'Responsible Person' for legionella control on site (HSG 274)
  • Assist SELCHP's management team to ensure compliance to Veolia's Minimum Requirements (VMR) as part of the Veolia business Management System (VMS) including; Occupational health air/noise monitoring Biodiversity requirements
  • Maintaining the SYPOL COSHH system for the site's chemical hazards
  • Data compilation, handling and verification. Assist the management team in the production of KPIs, monitoring trends and producing summary reports for managers & directors



What we're looking for;

  • A degree in a relevant STEM subject (e.g. Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Process Engineering.)
  • Previous experience, In a similar role at an Energy from Waste facility, power station or other combustion plant e.g. Station Chemist, Compliance Manager.
  • Team Leader for a stack emissions monitoring laboratory.
  • In the water treatment sector inc. high pressure steam boilers and cooling towers. Regulatory compliance (QSHE)
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Health & Safety
