Job Description

Penderels Trust has an opportunity for someone to join our Worcestershire Appointeeships team on a part time basis as a Finance Officer. You will be responsible for managing the financial accounts of our customers. The successful candidate will be joining a leading not-for-profit organisation that provides independent living services to people with disabilities and health care needs nationwide.

Location: Worcestershire (Homeworking)

Salary: (Full time) £22,011 per annum / (Pro rata) £16,656 per annum

Hours: 28 hours per week

Working Days & Times:  TBC. Core hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm.

The Role - Your main duties will include:

  • Monitoring and updating customer account trackers (Data entry, processing money requests, reconciling against SAGE reports).
  • Liaising with the DWP on matters relating to our customers’ benefits.
  • Liaising with the local authority and the Penderels Trust finance department in relation to invoicing and payment queries.
  • Authorising payments as stipulated in our customers Individual Budget Plans.
  • Identifying and resolving all queries effectively. 

Skills, Experience and Qualification - We are looking for someone with the following attributes:

  • Experience of working in a finance or accounting environment.
  • Ability to input and maintain accurate data records.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  • Ability to work flexibly and to deadlines.
  • Minimum GCSE Grade 'C' or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (including Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • A qualification in bookkeeping or accounting would be desirable.
