Summary

Fully woven into the DNA of M&S, our Finance team plays a key role in setting the pace for our key business decisions, shaping our budgets, analysing our sales, managing costs, and making sure our most vital statistics and data are absolutely accurate.

With a focus on creating and protecting value for all business areas by helping them make data-driven decisions and understand performance - it's our job to make sure the right tools, processes, governance, and ways of working are in place to support this.

You'll be leading the Digital & Technology (D&T) PMO team within Record to Report, key to the role will be engaging with key Finance business partners (both Finance and non-Finance, an outsourced technology provider and our Reporting & Analytics team).

What you'll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Leading and encouraging a team of at least 7 reports, to deliver high quality outputs, driving a continuous improvement mentality and a can-do attitude
  • Ensuring the large volume of tasks and queries are managed effectively, within a timely resolution, and aligned to the timetable key to successful delivery
  • Develop the team to work collaboratively with the PMO office in London and our outsourced IT provider to ensure the financials are reflected accurately
  • Strong Business Partner engagement to facilitate a collaborative working environment
  • Lead the team to support the business transformation with the delivery and execution of key projects using standard processes and automation and understand priorities
Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Part or fully Qualified Accountant
  • Experience of managing and mentoring a team
  • A strong control mentality with a continuous improvement approach
  • Build and maintain great relationships and drive a collaborative approach
  • Good understanding of standardisation of processes and using systems, and the impact these have on ways of working
