Job Description

The Growth Company’s (GC) employment services has an exciting opportunity for a Tutor working on our Working Well: Support to Succeed programme.

The role will be to develop, promote, deliver, and assess a number of short interventions that address life skills, confidence, motivation, attitudes, and behaviours; and support economically inactive participants to address barriers to achievement and progression, by empowering and equipping them to be able to achieve their goals and aspirations.

We help to make a lasting difference to the lives of people throughout the North of England and beyond, by supporting individuals to gain meaningful employment.

Our highly skilled advisers and keyworkers work with a range of individuals; from people who have found themselves recently out of work, to those with complex barriers such as physical disabilities, mental ill-health, and debt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tailor materials and training courses to support customers to make positive progressions towards their goals and aspirations.
  • Establish and deliver group activities as part of participant interventions, highlighting additional 1-2-1 advice required.
  • Deliver effective group sessions.
  • Seek ways to continuously improve service and own performance. 
  • Deliver a wide range of training courses in groups.
  • Ensuring accuracy of data inputting and compliance of participants records.
  • Adhering to compliance and contractual requirements including within the required timescales.
  • Preparing paperwork for group sessions and supporting participants in the completion of paperwork.

 About You:

  • Have a warm, approachable style to delivery is required to build relationships and rapport with participants.
  • Motivating and Inspiring.
  • Be flexible towards to location and courses delivered.
  • Experience of working in a target driven environment.
  • Knowledge of Matrix and Ofsted.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety policies and management of duty of care to participants ensuring safeguarding and customer safety.

Requirements:

  • Highly skilled in managing group settings as well as meeting quality standards.
  • PTLLS/Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent Relevant Teaching Qualification.
  • Good knowledge of the local labour market – routes into the labour market and knowledge of progression routes including knowledge of local education, training, and specialist service provision.
  • Recent experience of delivering training to participants with a wide range of needs and barriers.
  • Awareness of additional learning needs such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ESOL etc.
