What you'll be doing;


  • Providing working design solutions to technical problems, involving equipment selection and specifications, hydraulic design, plant layouts, P&IDs etc.
  • Receive the Clients brief/remit, formulate the scope of works and develop the mechanical design principles
  • Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities, including pumps, valves, pipework and ancillaries
  • Oversee project lifecycle from the conceptual design to deployment, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet all technical requirements
  • Coordinate members of the design team to integrate mechanical designs with electrical, process and civil engineering components
  • Conduct analysis and simulations to assess system performance under various operating conditions
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for junior engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and innovation
  • Review vendors proposals to ensure compliance with project specifications and contribute to suppliers selection, ensuring alignment with project goals and quality standards
  • Ensure that all Project Documentation is managed according to the requirements of the Project Quality Plan and project specific requirements
  • Problem solving and application of good engineering principles
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with Clients Specifications, User Requirement Specifications, Health and Safety Requirements, Company Quality requirements, Company Policy, legislation, design standards and good engineering practice
  • Adhere to the Company's ethical conduct guidelines and maintain a working environment which is supportive and respectful of other employees



What we're looking for;


  • Educated to degree level within Mechanical Engineering
  • A deep understanding of mechanical systems and water treatment processes prevalent in the industry
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Willingness to lead by example, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Be technically minded with a proven ability to problem solve in a mechanical design engineering environment, with focus on sustainable engineering solutions
  • Self-sustaining engineer with ability to effectively work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering teamwork and engaging constructively with clients
