NMP Assistant Ranger x2

Job Description

N1102 NMP Assistant Ranger - Role Profile

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to become a Coastal Ranger and support the delivery of the Plymouth Sound National Marine Park (PSNMP) Horizons Project. This is proactive engagement role with local communities and partner agencies to promote an inclusive activity programme offering.

You’ll be working with a diverse range of communities to help reconnect people to the sea so that they can experience the wonderful cultural and natural heritage of PSNMP, discover and learn more about it and ultimately change behaviours to act to protect it.

These full-time roles are supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and we are looking to create a team of rangers that have a variety of different skills. This is a nature and landscape project at its core and therefore if you have a passion for protecting and enhancing the natural environment, looking after, and promoting access to heritage buildings and landscapes as well as engaging with local communities through a variety of different activities then we want to hear from you.

You’ll work as part of a passionate team that will ultimately be delivering the UK’s first National Marine Park and helping to set out a blueprint for parks of the future.  You’ll be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to communicate well within the team, with a range of different partners and the public. No two days will be the same and there will be a combination of outdoor and indoor work involved giving you a great opportunity to spend lots of time in the magnificent Plymouth Sound.
