Job Description

We are seeking for a skilled Principal Education Psychologist to join our well-established and highly-regarded Educational Psychology Service.

As one of our Education Psychologist, you will have the opprtunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Students and Educators, your expertise in Psychology, coupled with your management skills, will be a great asset to our team.

Salary range 65,120 - 69,010 (dependant on experience) PLUS Essential Car User Allowance.

Education Psychologists from out or area, will also have access to relocation and travel from home scheme worth upto 8000.

The Role & Team

The post offers an exciting opportunity to lead a committed and talented team of Education Psychologists and Assistant Education Psychologists at a time of positive change and improvement in North East Lincolnshire Council's Children's Services. The Principal Education Psychologist is a member of the wider Education and Inclusion Team providing opportunities to make a significant contribution to strategic planning across the education service.

The Service works closely with parents and carers, partners in education settings and the Local Authority to help raise achievement, promote inclusion and support the emotional wellbeing of vulnerable children and young people across the borough.

We require an excellent communicator who has a strong vision for the development of high-quality service delivery and is knowledgeable about current practice in educational psychology and additional learning needs.

Your Responsibilities

  • Reporting to and working with the Head of Service for Send and Inclusion, provide strategic and operational leadership to the Educational Psychology Service in the context of the overall provision of services to children and young people including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Have responsibility for the clinical supervision and deployment of Education Psychologists and Assistant Education Psychologists across North East Lincolnshire, as well as managing the budget for the Educational Psychology Service.
  • Operate a traded service with education settings to provide non-statutory Education Psychology services.
  • Drive and implement the strategic and operational vision of the Council and successfully manage the cultural change required to achieve excellent service delivery in relation to education, inclusion and outreach.
  • Hold joint responsibility for developing the agenda of service improvement and the ongoing development with partners, including education settings and voluntary organisations, to achieve effective and excellent multi-agency working focused around the child and young person.
  • Continually learn from best practice locally and nationally.
