Project Management Office and Business Unit Operations are locally managed from within each Business Unit (BU) reporting directly into the Operations Director, who in-turn reports to the BU Director.
As Project Support Officer you will support the BU Business Operation and Project Management Office functions. You will work closely with other functions within the BU to work as efficiently and effectively as possible to support the drive for operational excellence.
Primary Job Purpose
  • Provides day to day operational support to the Business Operations, Delivery, Sales and People functions
  • Ensure the BU operates to its stated business rhythm
  • Drive consistency and efficiency into Project Management activities
  • Provide management information to enable the BU leadership to understand it’s risks & opportunities and be able to make   informed, risk-based decisions 
  • Provide a set of internal services which enable the BU to achieve its operational goals
  • Ensure the BU is adhering to company policies and processes
  • Support the Business Operations Manager in providing high levels of confidence in delivery and forecasting


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and advancement of management information and dashboards across the Business Unit including the use of Power BI
  • Creating, maintaining and sharing timely business performance data and reporting based on single versions of the truth that accurately reflect the position of the business 


Deliver defined PMO and Business Operations services to enable the BU including (but not limited to):
  • Accommodation & Facilities Management
  • Delivery Management support
  • Bid Management support
  • Change Management support
  • Policy and process conformance
  • Coordination and cascade of BU communications
  • Onboarding and induction support 
  • Meeting coordination and administration (including facilitation and action tracking)
  • Interact with other key business areas to facilitate smooth business operations 
  • Provide coordination/administration services to the BU as required
     
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • PMO/Business Operations experience in a support function
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to liaise and coordinate with colleagues from across all areas of the business 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent team working skills and able to work as a flexible, proactive member of a team
  • Excellent organisation skills, gained with previous experience of working within a project environment
  • Information and Data Management experience


Security
Due to the nature of this position, we require you to be eligible to achieve BPSS/ SC as a minimum and in some cases DV clearance may be required. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the UK for the last 5 years for SC and 10 years for DV.
