Job Description

Plymouth is a spectacular waterfront city offering exciting development opportunities, making it a top location to live, work and do business.

Like all UK cities, Plymouth’s city centre faces a number of challenges, but there are also a huge number of opportunities. The city centre has a programme of investment worth around £400m, with regeneration having already been delivered through major projects like the Barcode and the Box, as well as projects that are currently under development, including the city’s railway station and new areas of public realm.

On top of that, there are a number of exciting future projects, including the regeneration of the former Civic Centre, the modernisation of the city’s Guildhall and major new opportunities including new sports and health facilities, the regeneration of the city’s West End and the delivery of new hotels and city centre homes.

With all of these opportunities available, there’s no better time to be working for Plymouth City Council. And as a Regeneration Project Officer you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of some of the city’s highest profile development and regeneration projects.

Working arrangements are expected to involve two to three days a week working from home, with access to hot desk and meeting space at the Council’s offices at Ballard House, with stunning views across the marina. The role also benefits from flexible working hours and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.

This role is suitable for flexible working subject to the needs of the service

Plymouth City Council is an equal opportunities employer. All applicants will be considered for employment regardless of age, care experience, disability, gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, race, religion/belief, sex or sexual orientation.

As part of our commitment to promoting equality we offer guaranteed interviews to those who meet the essential criteria and are considered disabled, care experienced or are an Armed Forces Service Leaver within the last two years.
