Job Description

Lincolnshire County Council has an excellent opportunity in Children’s Services for an experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Team Manager, covering the Lincoln and West Lyndsey locality.

About the Role

The successful candidate will manage a multi-disciplinary team in the North and South Kesteven locality area.  Overseeing and monitoring the delivery of service as a whole, you will have responsibility for the overall direction, delivery, management of risk and performance of the specific services ensuring all statutory and performance requirements are met.  The successful candidate will also be strategic lead for the EHC Electronic Hub and Employability project work, supporting and enabling the delivery of high quality provision and ambitious outcomes for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in Lincolnshire. 

The position will require working across the locality and therefore the ability to drive is essential.

About You

We are keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

  • A Children’s Service qualification at graduate/post graduate level such as a teaching qualification/social care qualification/health qualification.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience.
  • Ability to provide effective leadership to a team of professionals.
  • Experience of co-ordinating and implementing a range of policy development and initiatives at a senior level.
  • A thorough up to date knowledge of relevant Legislation, statutory duties and Local Authority Special Educational Needs Procedures.
  • Excellent presentations skills.
  • Effective Budget and Financial planning skills.
