Job Description

The ‘One Children’s Service Transformation Programme’ is seeking to deliver stability, improvement and confidence in transforming our Children’s Services Directorate. This is a high priority programme, mandated by the Corporate Management Team, and connected to the ‘A Bright Future Strategy’ where there is a vision that Children and Young People in Plymouth grow up healthy and happy, safe and able to aspire and achieve; living in resilient families and communities, able to take advantage of a broad range of opportunities.

 

The ‘One Children’s Service Transformation Programme’ is planned across three key workstream areas of:

 

·       Transformation Enablers - 9 projects to improve the workforce, data management, ICT systems and technology architecture in Children’s Services.

·       Service Improvement – 8 projects to improve the service delivery and outcomes for children and young people across social care and education.

·       System and Service Transformation – 5 large scale projects to improve the city’s ability to meet the challenges facing children and young people in Plymouth.

 

We are seeking 3 skilled, adaptable, methodical, resilient, and strong communicators to join the programme team as Senior Project Managers. This is an excellent opportunity to support city-wide transformation to improve the outcomes for children, young people and families and support Plymouth City Council’s Children’s Services on our heading towards excellence journey.

 

The successful applicants will need to demonstrate knowledge of children’s services, understand how to shape change across the system of social care and education and be highly skilled at project planning, stakeholder management and delivering results. The three project roles will be fundamental in the System and Service Transformation Workstream, focusing on projects including Early Help Transformation, Preparing Children and Young People for Adulthood, Market Development and supporting our transformation of in-house fostering.

 

This role is not suitable for flexible working due to the needs of the service
