Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to help our Housing Commercial Services and Asset Management Teams co-ordinate and manage cost control and procedures for the repairs and investment work on the Council’s tenanted housing stock. You will support the production and maintenance of accurate financial information in compliance with the Council’s rules and be responsible for ensuring effective cost control measures are in place and budgets adhered for both external and internal contract work. You must be customer-focused and be able to build and maintain effective relationships with our contractors, customers and stakeholders and have effective influencing and negotiation skills to deal with challenging situations as and when required.

You must hold a qualification in quantity surveying or equivalent at HNC level or above, have demonstrable experience of effectively evaluating contractors’ interim valuations and final accounts; monitoring costs and analysing fluctuations; maintaining financial spreadsheets and producing reports and application of contract procedures associated with managing multi-million-pound contracts. You must have excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills and IT skills and be able to be an ambassador for the Council when visiting our tenants’ homes and interacting with customers.

•           36.25 hrs per week with an annual salary of £39,186 to £43,421
