We are looking for a dynamic individual for this new role of Senior Traveller Officer.  You would be the lead officer in all aspects of day to day management of the council owned traveller sites.  This will include, monitoring and reporting on the condition of the sites, managing the waiting lists, allocation of pitches, ensuring service users comply with the terms of their written agreements, collection of weekly rent and ground maintenance fees, collection of arrears, and managing unauthorised encampments. 

This role will be both challenging and complex and you will need excellent communication, partnership and collaboration skills to work to resolve what can often be very challenging issues.  You will need to be fully competent in the use of Information Technology systems, and hold a clean full UK driving licence.

Ideally you will have previous experience or sound knowledge of the welfare benefits systems and reforms and of social landlord and tenant law and practice. Previous experience in a regulatory/enforcement role would also be advantageous.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in person on 4th April 2024 at our Plough Lane, Hereford offices, subject to successfully completing an IT skills assessment which will take place on the same day.
