Job Description

Team SJA is looking to recruit a passionate, hardworking Teaching Assistant that thrives on building great working relationships with pupils.

We are looking to appoint a temporary Teaching Assistant to join our Academy team. Your role will involve working with teachers to support pupils across the school in KS2. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Build rapport and good working relationships with children,
  • Have a good standard of literacy and numeracy with a relevant qualification,
  • Understanding and knowledge of barriers to a child's progress, such as: speech and language knowledge, autism awareness, dyslexia knowledge, etc.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and outside agencies.
  • Have a minimum of NVQ Level 2, or equivalent experience within a school.
  • Be able to work independently with individuals on a 1 to 1 basis or small groups of children on given tasks.
  • Have experience of working with children with specific needs, particularly
  • Be open to training to enable you to work with intervention groups
  • Be willing to support children with personal care.
