N1643 Team Manager (Brokerage)

As part of its improvements to Children’s Services, Plymouth City Council is seeking to increase its capacity for finding placements and support for children and young people by significantly expanding our Brokerage team.

We are seeking to recruit a Team Manager to lead a team of 2 Brokerage Officers and 2 Contracts Assistants.

Based in the Children, Young People and Families service, the team will be responsible for sending out referrals to external placement and support providers including fostering, children’s homes and supported accommodation, working with social workers to capture the needs and wishes of the child. The team will follow up on placement offers alongside social workers and make sure that contracts and payments are in place, tracking progress and following up on any issues. The team will also work closely with commissioners to share feedback on gaps in services and what is working well.

This is an opportunity to lead a newly formed team carrying out a really important function for the Council in helping to make sure our vulnerable children and young people have places to live that are warm, caring and safe and the support they need to thrive in their childhoods.

This role is suitable for flexible working subject to the needs of the service.
