Herefordshire Council are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and well-motivated person to join the council’s Traffic Management (Highways) Team. The successful candidate will be required to provide effective, comprehensive, flexible and responsive support to a busy service area where deadlines are crucial. IT Literacy skills are essential as well as in-depth knowledge and of Traffic Management Regulations, Legislation and guidance.  Prior evidenced experience and excellent organisational, communication and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and work to deadlines is essential.

As Traffic Management Officer you will work closely with the Team Leader and wider Highways department to ensure an effective and efficient service is delivered.

An understanding of Traffic Management, Traffic Engineering, Traffic Regulations Orders and the legal processes involved in delivering a variety of works is crucial. Full training of the council’s systems will be provided but candidates are expected to have experience using AutoCAD/KeyLines/KeySign/Sign Plot Systems with a full understanding of delivering Traffic Engineering Schemes and Traffic Regulation Orders. Experience of Parkmap is desirable but not essential. You will be part of a small friendly team of staff where your role will make a real difference on the ground and with peoples experience in Herefordshire.
