Trainee Traffic Installation Technician

If successful in this role you will learn to install traffic signals, including the installation of ancillary and associated equipment and highways systems. Working from our Carlisle Depot this role will predominantly cover Cumbria, parts of Lancashire and Scotland. The role will require the successful person to be on standby every 1 in 3 weeks.

What you’ll do: 

  • Help to support the Traffic Installations team to achieve KPIs and service delivery requirements.
  • Carry out installation of Traffic and associated signal equipment.
  • Install cables and joints.
  • Assist with carry out testing of signal equipment.
  • Wire cables at top caps and controllers to an agreed specification.
  • Carry out on site risk assessments and follow method statements.
  • Work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and adhere to quality guidelines.

Key Requirements:

  • Have some basic electrical knowledge or equivalent experience in electrical engineering
  • General IT skills
  • Ability to learn and work well within a team.
  • Actively seeks development to progress within the programme beyond the role of Trainee
  • Full UK Driving Licence
