Job Description

Casual Early Years Nursery Practitioners

RAFAKidz Nursery, MOD Worthy Down SO21 2RG

£11.44 - £12.35 per hour

Are you looking for a flexible job in childcare to fit around your family, studies or work life balance? Whether you are ready to further your early years career, looking for a change or just starting out, then RAFAKidz may be a great fit!

All children are special but at RAFAKidz we believe our children are extra special. RAFAKidz is one of the chosen providers of nursery services to the RAF (Royal Air Force). Our nursery at MOD Worthy Down (Winchester) is one of 14 settings in the RAFAKidz family. The nursery itself has around 40 children with spaces in continued demand, supported by a team of circa 12 employees.

Our Casual colleagues have access to the same training opportunities as our amazing team and you’ll be the first to hear of any permanent roles which suit your skills and experience should you be looking for something more permanent in the future.

Whilst previous experience within a childcare setting is desirable, it is not essential. We are looking for Casual Nursery Assistants who have a genuine love of children, warmth, patience and a great sense of humour! We will give you a great induction experience, training and development opportunities and you’ll be learning on the job from leading practitioners in the industry! A typical day in the role will include (depending on your experience):

  • Being hands on and creative with messy and outdoor play activities

  • Helping with meals and snack times

  • Keeping records on children’s progress and daily activities and adventures

  • Maintaining highest standards of safety, cleanliness and hygiene

  • Meet and greet families and build great relationships

  • Be willing to learn from colleagues to understand EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage)
