Nursery Room Leader 

Subsidised Childcare for Staff 

RAFAKidz at MOD Worthy Down SO21 2RG 

£13.54 - £14.25 per hour 38 hours per week 

All children are special but at RAFAKidz we believe our children are extra special. RAFAKidz is one of the chosen providers of nursery services to the RAF (Royal Air Force). Our nursery at MOD Worthy Down) is one of 14 settings in the RAFAKidz family. The nursery itself has around 40 children with spaces in continued demand, supported by a team of circa 14 employees.  

Due to the phenomenal growth of the nursery we are looking to welcome a new Room Leaders who is Level 3 qualified, including qualified practitioners who are ready for their next step on their early years career path. We offer subsidised childcare for colleagues to be able to bring their children with them, high quality up-to-date training including using our software to electronically record your observations and updates. You’ll have ample annual leave and time off to relax and recharge over the Christmas period. 

We will give you a great induction experience, training and development opportunities and you’ll be learning on the job from our nursery managers – it’s a real team effort! 

 A typical day in the role will include the following responsibilities: 

 
  • To manage the day to day activities to ensure the smooth running of your room  

  • Support the development of good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion. 

  • Implement and support others in delivering, the EYFS in line with current practice and guidelines. 

  • To ensure effective staff deployment in your designated room to support staff deployment across the nursery 

  • In conjunction with the senior management team identify and address individual training needs of playroom staff. 

  • Provide leadership and support to room staff to enable them to establish and maintain positive working relationships. 

  • Ensure the effective implementation of the Key Worker procedures and allocate children to key workers appropriately.
