NHS National Services Scotland

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), as an Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award holder, actively encourages applicants from our Armed Forces, Veterans’ and Service family communities.  NSS has positive policies that support participation in the Reserves, such as an additional 10 days paid leave to complete annual camp commitments.  We also recognise the wealth of skills offered by our service personnel and their families in areas such as: General Management, Engineering, Logistics, Project Management, Accounts and Administrative Service.  We believe service leavers, veterans and their families possess a wide range of transferable soft skills gained through their years of service and support to the wider military communities.  These skills including: being great communicators, well-practiced in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority, great organisers particularly within tight schedules and project management.  In sum, we value the ability of the service community to adapt to different environments espousing team spirit and great values throughout.

About us

National Services Scotland (NSS) is a national NHS Board operating right at the heart of NHSScotland. We have staff working across various locations in Scotland.  We also have flexible working for those who can and wish to work more from home or alternate flexible locations.  Through our services we provide invaluable support and advice. A role we also extend to the wider public sector.

NSS supports customers to deliver their services more efficiently and effectively. We offer shared services on a national scale using best-in-class systems and standards. Our aim is to help our customers save money and free up resources so they can be re-invested into essential services. We also provide consultancy and support to help public bodies join up health and social care. Our priority is always the same, to support Scotland’s health. We do this by offering whatever’s needed, whenever and wherever it’s needed and to whoever needs it.

We aim to achieve this through four strategic objectives:

  • Delivering Service Excellence through continuous quality improvement
  • Maintaining Financial Sustainability
  • Building Workforce Sustainability
  • Contributing positively to Climate Sustainability
