Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

North Yorkshire County Council (NYC) is committed to the Armed Forces Covenant and does so by encouraging equal opportunities for members of the armed forces and their families in North Yorkshire and positively promotes the Armed Forces across the organisation via employee news and events. NYC invites all staff to participate in the two minute silence on Armistice Day and promotes other events to staff such as Help for Heros Day. We encourage members of the military to consider careers in NYC when leaving the Armed Forces, or their spouses, by attending careers fairs to promote roles within the Council that would be attractive to armed forces veterans and their families. We offer flexible working practices which can be of benefit to military spouses employed in our organisation.
