Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways, including:

• We will always consider offering an interview to spouses/partners if they meet the essential selection criteria laid out in a job advert.

• We will support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working
opportunities.

• We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment according to our policies & procedures.

• We will grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured according to our policies & procedures.

About us

Who we are. We’re passionate about supporting and developing the needs of all our colleagues, providing learning and development opportunities for the organisation, team and individual. We deliver open events, online resources and support bespoke requests that can help you develop your skills and reach your full potential.

Explore the possibilities.  There are so many opportunities at NTU to develop yourself, your career, impact people’s lives, be part of and create change, innovate and deliver service excellence. We want to give you the opportunities to stretch yourself, to explore what you’re capable of. If your ideas are big and bold enough and will make an impact, then we’ll back you all the way. In short, we want to empower great ideas and we want you to work with us, a partner, to achieve that goal.

At NTU when we set out to do something we do it.  We are a highly successful university however you measure us; from student satisfaction to research, from awards to investment. We also recognise we’re not the finished article. That whilst we have achieved so much there’s still lots to do to make the impact we want in the world and for our people. But we’re determined to get there. At NTU, we’ve been successful because we have strong leadership, because we’re ambitious but also because we work together and deliver what we say.

Respect at NTU. NTU is committed to sustaining a highly effective learning environment for our students and staff characterised by fairness, equality of opportunity, and the valuing of diversity. Principles of dignity and respect underpin all that we do, and the University has very clear expectations around how all members of its community treat – and are treated by – others.

Bold in diversity, we reward success and empower our people.  We are a highly inclusive and collaborative organisation. We seek diversity of people and diversity in thinking.
