Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
At Severn Hospice caring is what we do best, and this includes caring for our people in a supportive, fulfilling and friendly environment. We understand Forces families may require flexibility with granting leave around deployment, as well as additional unpaid leave for training, whilst continuing to endeavour to support you in the workplace by offering tailored support to your needs.
With the Armed Forces strongly rooted and connected to the community in Shropshire, we are committed to supporting the Armed Forces community.
As an employer we recognise the value of the skills and experiences service family members can bring with them to the workplace.
We have promised to continually review our recruitment process to remove barriers to recruiting members of the Armed Forces community and to liaise with other healthcare organisations to support people moving into our region.

About us
Severn Hospice is one of the region’s leading and much-loved charities providing specialist care for people living with an incurable illness across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid-Wales.
We provide emotional, physical and spiritual support enabling patients to live as well as they can within the limitations of their illness and maintain independence for as long as possible, whether they are at home, visiting day services or staying with us.
With over 300 permanent staff and approximately 1,000 volunteers, people are at the heart of everything we do.
From nurses, doctors and therapists, chefs, stewards, housekeepers, cleaners and gardeners to receptionists, administrators, finance and IT specialists and fundraisers and retail teams, they all play a part in making Severn Hospice what it is.
There may be different 100 roles, but we are definitely one team. It’s a very special place to work and it’s so much more than just a job. Everyone is brought together through a shared passion of caring about what we do.
