Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
South Ribble Borough Council’s vision is to be a listening, engaging and responsive Council that makes the best use of its resources to enable every person and community to thrive in a vibrant, green and fair borough.
With a unique balance of diverse urban and rural areas, the borough sits at the heart of Lancashire, a county which provides diverse heritage, beautiful landscapes, and strong connectivity to areas of England, Scotland, and Wales. With major motorway and rail links to nearby cities of Manchester, Liverpool and Preston, including to Liverpool and Manchester Airports, the borough of South Ribble is an attractive place for people to live, work and visit.
The council has determined a set of four key priorities for the future:

About us
We’re really proud to be part of the Armed Services Covenant, that recognises the sacrifices faced by the armed forces community, as well as creating public awareness of the issues that they face.
For South Ribble Borough Council, the Covenant presents an opportunity to provide help and advice to members of the Armed Forces Community.
Commitment runs through the organisation from front line staff being aware of the services we offer to those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their families. We support reservists employed by the Council with paid time off and a commitment to the spouses/partners of reservists and members of the regular armed services at times of deployment, injury or bereavement.
