South Tyneside Council

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The South Tyneside Armed Forces Community Covenant is a voluntary statement of mutual support between a civilian community and its local Armed Forces community.  It commits the borough to key principles, which are that service personnel, veterans and their families should:

  • not be at a disadvantage when they try to access public services such as education, employment, housing, or health care
  • be given special consideration where appropriate in some cases, especially for those who have given most, such as the injured and the bereaved.

About us

This is an exciting time to shape the future of South Tyneside Council as we launch ‘Our Council’ change programme geared towards internal modernisation and Organisational Development. At the same time, we have developed a new 20-year vision and medium-term Council Strategy underpinned by a refreshed set of values focusing on key areas where we can make a genuine improvement to some of the complex challenges we face. We are a committed employer providing services to residents across our towns and villages.

The Council are always looking for enthusiastic, dedicated people to go the extra mile within their role. Our people are what makes our organisation such a great place to work, and ensures we continue to provide the excellent levels of service. Together, we can ensure that South Tyneside is an outstanding place to live, work and raise families.

With many exciting and innovative programmes being delivered to residents, businesses and visitors there has never been a better time to join the team and make a difference.
