About us

At South Western Railway we take pride in the journey and put the customer at the heart of everything we do.  We operate some of the busiest routes and stations in the country covering Waterloo to Portsmouth, Weymouth, Yeovil, and Exeter. Our 5,500+ employees deliver 11,000 services; our roles are not just the obvious such as train drivers.

Behind every train driver are colleagues who work in a wide variety of areas such as maintenance, customer service, health and safety and human resources. Over half of our employees have worked for us for more than 10 years and we help all our colleagues to achieve their full potential by providing high quality learning and development opportunities along with processes designed to encourage and support.
