Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Sport Aberdeen recognises the valuable contribution the Reserve Forces makes to the UK Armed Forces, their communities and their place of work and is committed to supporting this, by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. As an employer of choice, Sport Aberdeen is an armed forces friendly organisation with a Reserve Forces Policy and Procedure.
We actively welcome applications from serving or ex Armed Forces personnel. We are proud to promote this on our company website.
Support is also offered to any Sport Aberdeen employees who choose to become members of the reserve forces or CFAV.
About us
Sport Aberdeen is an award-winning charity committed to creating opportunities, inspiring people and changing lives through sport and physical activity in the north-east.
With over 500 employees, 34 venues and 2 million customer visits annually, Sport Aberdeen is the largest sport and leisure provider in the north-east, placing a key emphasis on community driven outcomes with the overarching primary objective to increase participation in sport and physical activity in the area.
Opportunities are delivered through a diverse range of programmes and partnership working and venues include gyms, swimming pools, an ice rink, tennis courts and five golf courses, across the city. Targeted programmes include those specifically designed for children and adults with additional support needs; participants over 65; people living with long-term health conditions and looked after children and young people. Sport Aberdeen also manages the UK’s first accredited autism-friendly ice-rink.
Our goal is simple – we want to get more people active, regardless of barriers such as cost, age, ability and gender.
