Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
Staffordshire Women’s Aid recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our community and are committed to honouring the Armed Forces Covenant.
We support the employment of Service spouses and partners and seeking to provide, where possible, leave for Service spouses and partners before, during and after a partner's deployment.
We deliver awareness raising talks about our work, the support we provide, and volunteering opportunities to the Armed Forces community in Stafford. We have supported a number of victims of sexual and/or domestic violence and abuse who are also members of the armed forces community, including Serving Personnel and Veterans.
About us
Staffordshire Women's Aid is a charitable organisation providing specialist services for victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence since 1976. Forty-five years on we remain a grass roots, user-led organisation, placing at the heart of our work the experiences of those we support.
Our work aims to empower victims to become survivors and to shape change towards safer, more independent lives, free from violence and abuse. To achieve our social objectives, we provide innovative, responsive services, delivered by a dedicated and skilled team of staff and volunteers:
Alongside the provision of front-line services, we aim to create positive change through training, research, publicity, and preventative education.
