Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We are an organisation of over 600 people serving Suffolk’s communities, many of whom have either experienced service with HMAF or are the spouses, partners and families of currently serving personnel.

We provide flexible working structures including part time hours, term time working and the ability to work from any Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service owned building across the county. As a disability confident employer we aim to make any reasonable adjustments staff may need to bring their whole self to work and maximize their potential.  We are passionate about serving our community and ensuring that this includes families of serving personnel. We are mindful of the fact that Suffolk has one of the largest military populations in the country outside of London so want to do the most we can for our residents.

About us

We deliver a fire and rescue service to the people and communities of Suffolk.

We operate from 35 stations across Suffolk, many of them shared with Suffolk Police and East of England Ambulance Service. Our stations vary in status from being staffed 24/7, 365 days a year, to being completely on-call, which means firefighters are on call day and night and are alerted to incidents by a pager. The Fire Service Headquarters is based at Endeavour House in Ipswich and we share a combined fire control room with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.
