Sussex ICB

Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

The wider families within the Armed Forces community are valued and supported by NHS Sussex.  We understand their needs, and this is reflected in our policies and the support provided to our staff.  We have trained staffed to consider Armed Forces families with recruitment for example, considering gaps in employment due to relocations.  NHS Sussex employs the Armed Forces Network team who are dedicated to improving delivery and understanding whether this is internally, commissioning or working across the whole system.  The Network has developed resources for both professionals and the community creating a greater awareness of understanding particularly in relation to families and carers.  There is good engagement and partnership with the Armed Forces community including working with the family federations and supporting family days.  The Network currently directly supports the Armed Forces community and runs the Single Point of Contact for Armed Forces families and carers in South East.

About us

NHS Sussex ICB recognises the positive value of diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination and welcomes applications from people of diverse backgrounds and identities. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and ethnically diverse candidates as these staff groups are currently under-represented throughout our organisation currently. We have also made a positive commitment to employing people from the Armed Forces Community.

We are also committed to enabling team members to work in an agile, more flexible way, recognising that this will lead to more effective and efficient ways of working. We will empower our people to work where, when, and how they choose with minimum constraints to optimise performance and delivery of results. Smarter working is not just related to working from different locations or at different times. It is about gaining the benefit of utilising technology to change work practices and to work differently which should increase the effectiveness of the service and deliver benefits to ICB business.
