Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

• Promoting the Armed Forces: by publicising our Armed Forces Covenant on our website and displaying the Armed Forces Covenant logo.
• Employment support to members of the Armed Forces Community: by working with the Career Transition Partnership, and focus advertising through ‘service friendly’ recruitment agencies and service charities.
• Education: by working with the Career Transition Partnership on our Apprenticeship vacancies, and focus advertising through ‘service friendly’ recruitment agencies and service charities.

SPE continue to pledge our support to the armed forces reservists, veterans (including the wounded, injured and sick), cadet instructors, military spouses/partners and other former members of the defence community.

We have recently signed up to the Armed Forces Covenant and achieved a Bronze award in the AF Covenant (AFC) Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) 2022. Initiatives to fully embed the spirit of the award within the Company are already underway, including:

- A small team of Armed Forces champions to support peers and onboarding
- Work shadow opportunities for ex forces personnel across a wide range of disciplines
- A reservists policy where those who join as reservists will be able to benefit from maximum recommended leave for Military Training
-Assistance towards resettlement and relocation costs
-Access to mental health support and counselling via our Employee Healthcare Plan.
