Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

Tamworth Borough Council is a Bronze Award level employer in the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme meaning we have not only signed the Covenant but also actively promote being Armed Forces friendly in both policy and practice.  We have Key Performance Indicators in place to ensure the effectiveness of our policy in supporting services personnel and their families with our services. It is our aim to become Silver Award holders and we have already begun the process of ensuring our staff are well versed in our commitment to the covenant via online training modules.

We guarantee an interview to any applicant who meets the essential criteria for the role and is:

  • Spouses and partners of currently serving and reserve personnel, and adult children (aged 18-25).
  • Spouses and partners of service personnel who have left the Armed Forces within the last 12 months, and adult children (aged 18-25).
  • Bereaved spouses and partners for up to two years post service, and adult children (aged 18-25).
