Description

Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

We recognise the contribution that Service personnel, reservists, veterans, the cadet movement and military families make to our organisation, our community and to the country. We will seek to uphold the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by:

  • Commitment to Respect: We, the undersigned, commit to treating people who have served in the Armed Forces with respect, dignity, and empathy, recognizing the inherent worth and value of every individual.
  • Commitment to Communication: We commit to open, honest, and effective communication, striving to understand each other's perspectives and needs, and resolving conflicts through dialogue and mutual understanding.
  • Commitment to Equality: We commit to promoting equality and fairness, striving to eliminate discrimination, prejudice, and bias in all aspects of our interactions and responsibilities.
  • Commitment to Growth: We will encourage personal and collective growth, embracing change and development as we work together within this covenant. We are dedicated to promoting skills development and training opportunities for those veterans, reservists, and their families who work for us to help them achieve their career goals.
  • Employment Support: We commit to providing employment opportunities and support for veterans, reservists, and their spouses. We will actively seek to eliminate discrimination against these individuals in the workplace and offer fair and equal chances for professional growth and development.
  • Health and Well-being: We pledge to support those in our employment and give access to appropriate well-being services, including mental health care through our EAP services. We will work to eliminate disparities and address their unique health needs.
  • Covenant Promotion: We will actively promote awareness of the Armed Forces Covenant and encourage other organizations and individuals to pledge their support. We will work together to strengthen the covenant's impact.
  • Continuous Review: We commit to reviewing and evaluating our support for the armed forces community regularly. We will seek feedback and adapt our policies and actions to best serve their needs.
