Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant
We are committed to providing a platform where veterans and serving military personnel and their families can access workshops and job opportunities within the creative arts sector. All of our workshops are free to veterans and heavily discounted to serving personnel and their families. They are run by industry experts and provide a brilliant training ground for careers in the arts; a place where new skills can be trialled, developed and improved, and a place to receive mentorship and guidance from professionals in the field. All of our professional productions, exhibitions and public readings are designed to showcase the work of our members and promote their careers. We employ veterans, serving personnel and their family members in every professional production that we produce as well as helping them to build a network of contacts within their chosen creative industry.
About us
The Soldier’s Arts Academy CIC is a platform through which serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families can participate in the creative and performing arts, using their skills and experiences to engage audiences. It may form part of a recovery process; provide training for a step into a new industry; or help support the transition into civilian life. Working closely with actors, directors, producers, dancers, writers, poets and artists the SAA creates opportunities for participants to fulfil their artistic potential. As well as free weekly creative workshops, we professionally produce exhibitions, readings, films and theatre productions.
