Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

TORUS Logistical Solutions is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and recognises the value serving personnel, Reservists, Veterans and military families bring to our organisation. We strive to support the values of the Armed Forces Covenant in many ways, including:

• We have employed into the Company an ex-Sergeant Major with 22 years exemplary service in the Army, whose sole role is to assist veterans, serving soldiers, sailors, air-force personnel and their families in their transition into civilian employment.
•  We will always guarantee an interview to service personnel family and dependants if they meet the selection criteria laid out in the job description.
• We encourage staff to apply for other suitable positions within Reserves, Cadets or service employment on relocation when appropriate.
• We will support spouses and partners to work from home where appropriate and look at flexible working
  opportunities and offer time off in lieu (TOIL) to facilitate service demands.
• We will support training and development which helps staff not only in their TORUS role, but will also be of benefit in future employment.
• We will look sympathetically on requests for leave before, during or after a partner’s deployment according to TORUS HR policy.
• We will grant special paid leave for employees who are bereaved or whose loved ones are injured
• We will allow additional leave for forces personnel to conduct training, deployments etc. On completion of training, deployment they will be reinstated in their civilian employment within the company. 
• We actively target service personnel, veterans , family and dependants and have a dedicated sector on our website to apply for live jobs.
• We regularly attend service leavers job fairs and actively recruit  personnel and offer employment guidance.
• We work alongside all veterans homeless facilities in the North east and offer employment opportunities that would suit the service leaver and the client.
