Our commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant

  • By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we acknowledge, understand and support those who have served in the Armed Forces or continue to do so in a Reservist capacity, their families or those who are Cadet Force Adult Volunteers, should be treated with fairness and respect in the community, society and the workplace.
  • TfW has an Armed Forces Community Steering Group that is hosted across our internal Yammer page.  Here we get to understand and address any matters arising and what other support we can offer our employees. We currently have membership made up of Reservists, Veterans, military spouses and partners.
  • Our HR policy states: Military spouse or partners have 5 days unpaid leave per year to request during times of partner/spouse deployment.
  • Our HR policy states: Bereavement leave is a standard entitlement for all staff, with up to 10 days paid leave allowed in a year.

Transport for Wales (TfW) is a subsidiary company wholly owned by Welsh Government, which exists to drive forward the Welsh Government's vision of a high quality, safe, integrated, affordable and accessible transport network that the people of Wales can be proud of. TfW is the Welsh Government’s expert advisor and advocate for transport related matters.

TfW has overall responsibility for rail services across Wales and its border regions (delivered by TfW Rail Limited); whilst we are becoming increasingly involved in bus and active travel schemes across Wales. As our remit continues to expand, we are working to deliver a world-class, fully integrated multi-modal transport network that will make a real difference to people, communities and businesses across Wales.
